Gun Classifieds?
 

So... I'm in the market for a pistol and I would like to buy it from a person as opposed to a dealer. Ebay isn't an option obviously. Craigslist won't allow such items to be posted either. The local newspaper has nothing in the classifieds.

Short of waiting for the next gun show here in my area, does anyone know of a place where buyers and sellers can get together? I'm not finding anything online.

This makes you go through a FFL dealer, and that's something I'd rather not do.

I'm really looking for something that will help me find local sellers so I can inspect the merchandise before I decide to buy anything.

You need to check around on the gun forums. There are tons of them out there and most all of them have a classified section. Just look for ads from people in your neck of the woods.

...etc. just to name a few. Whatever type of firearm your looking for just seek out a website dedicated to it. There are tons of them. If you want a Beretta then type in keywords "beretta forums" and see what pops up. Good luck in your search.

Try the 1911forums, thehighroad.org forum, sigforum, etc, classified section and look for people selling in your state. A lot of people like doing FTF sales also, you just need to look through the forums to find them.

In my area there is a "want ad" paper called "The Trader Paper".

It usually has 50-100 ads for firearms every week. Probably something similar in your area. Several years back I bought a Remington Marine Magnum 12ga shotgun out of this paper.

AR15.com is good, THR, a few others.

What state are you in? It makes a difference. Several states also have good local boards, e.g. AZshooting.com for Arizona.
